Kageyama Tobio { Always there for each other }

The last year of Kitagawa for the both of them, having established a friendship earlier on in the years of middle school. Which only helped since she had joined the team to be manager, her brother had practically begged her to. "Karasuno? I thought you'd want to go to Sejioh." Questioning the setter which sat next to her in break.

"Well, I've heard a famous coach Ikkei ukai would return to the team. Still not 100% sure, though. " He nodded with hands in his pockets, "Going with Iwaizumi next year." Presuming she would be since the family bond,

"I'd have to see how it goes and such." A light shrug of her shoulder, looking at him as the eye contact was returned for a second before he hurriedly looked away, even a glimst of pink was dusted on his face.

"Well, whatever choice you make, I hope we can still be friends." Coughing in his line, looking around as if the wind was interesting to him.

"Of course." A lined thin smile on her lips, but before anymore could be said, the bell rang for class to start within a little. "Let's get going." A light punch on his shoulder before leaving to class.

It was a surprise when she had hidden what school she got into. It had gotten both Hajime and Tooru upset that she chose another school. Nevertheless, both of them let it go, one a bit longer than the other.

Nothing like that crossed her mind when she waddled down the school hallways, hearing voices in the gym being loud across the open doors. Stopping at the first door to hear the squeaks of shoes on the polished floor.

Someone tapped her shoulder, which made her spin around. "Are you interested?" A beautiful woman asked, having seen her looking into the gym for a while now.

"I uh.. yeah, is there perhaps a manager position open?" The mysterious woman smiled before pushing hair behind her ear, "There is actually. Was about to go looking for one since I'll be leaving next year."

"Come with me." It had been at least a little over a month since school started up again. As she elegantly walked into the gym with the girl following after.

Not long after entering the gym, all eyes we're on her. Sadly, she couldn't find Tobio, but she smiled at the rest of the team politely anyhow. "She will be a part of our manager team." The woman introduced me to them briefly.

"My name is {Name}. Nice to meet you all, I hope to be of help around." Waving with one hand as some smiled and waved back, other greeted back such a guy named Asahi who had been introduced alongside Daichi, Sugawara, and ect.

The gym doors we're sprung open as a familiar figure walked in with a short ginger, seemingly arguing with one another. "Tobio." She mentioned to herself in a whisper.

"Come on, you two, we have gotten a new manger for our team." Daichi, his voice easily booming in the mostly quiet room, but it wouldn't last long before everyone went back to practising.

"Hai!" They spoke in union, turning around to finally notice her. "I am Hinata Shoyo! It's a pleasure to meet you." The short ginger smiled widely at her and reached a hand out for a shake, she accepted and shook it. "The name is Iwaizumi {Name}."

As the interaction went on, then split. Kageyama stood and watched, feeling a sense of relief of having her her. " {Name}? I am glad to see you here." He said to her after Hinata had left off.

"Of course, I couldn't help myself. Plus, I see Iwaizumi at home all the time." Mumbling the explanation to him but pushing it away to smile. "I've missed you." She spoke even quieter than before. After all, they didn't have time to meet up in summer or anything.

He seemed surprised but kind of brushed it off. "No need to be so sentimental." Easily being able to pick up the fact his face had gotten pinker, scuffing before he lightly patted her shoulder and scurried off to practice.

She was left smiling softly, knowing it was his way of being 'kind'. When he went to the team, they all immediately accused them of dating, which he denied with red ears.

"Wow, the king actually got a queen. How surprising." Could be heard from the tall guy named Tsukishima Kei, with a green haired next to him laughing slightly at his words. "Could you shut up for once!?" Kageyama whisper shouted knowingly you could most likely hear it all.

The snow crunched under their feet as they walked. It was the weekend, which meant Kageyama and {Name} had the weekly hangouts yet again at the cosy coffee, which not many people knew of. Luckily.

Holding hands after some convincing from her side, he wasn't the biggest when it came to any sort of affectation no matter who it was. Letting it slide for maybe one or two individuals.

"The snow is only getting more intense." She muttered, looking up at him every now and then again. With only achieving a nod and "Hm, it is."

Raising a brow at his silence but shaking it off as they walked, it was a normal thing now lately. Almost as if he was shy to even mumbled out a proper word most of the time.

"Hey, uh, {Name}" he took a deep breath before stopping in his tracks. Looking at her as his hand squeezed hers lightly. "We've been friends for a while, right?"

His blueberry eyes looked around before meeting hers again, "Yeah, almost 4 years." His actions seemed more raw, genuine, and hesitant. "I've been.. Thinking." Forcing the words out. "We should go on a date." Speaking straightforward after moments of hesitation.

White snow flakes started to fall from the sky with a slow pace, embracing the duo. Her gaze fell to the snow, hand holding, before meeting his eyes. Finally, seeing his pink cheeks almost aluminating in the dark.

Grabbing both of his hands, pulling him closer, "I'd love to." She whispered into the darkness of the world.

bnf takes 😭😭? cmon man. im just not that interested in that. like i am just not crazy about the marriage/children endgame aspect, simply out of preference. do not care for that kind of clean happy ending for any of my faves, i think it would emotionally resonate with me less. i also internalized what george had said about what romances he likes to write and read and the “we’ll always have paris” example he used. i do like some kind of tragedy or bittersweetness in romantic stories too. and the love was and would still always be there and all that. i do want some kind of departure, some key choice and sacrifice perhaps. i see the possibility of jaime dying too, which could achieve the same, but not executed the way it was in the show. i do not at all deny the possibility of interpreting the set up for what u guys r saying either, i think you can find foreshadowing for it (certainly has more of a basis than a majority of what ppl skew as marriage foreshadowing for other ships), i just dont feel crazy about it as a “happily ever after” scenario, dont think it would fit:

like i see this. i even thought that stage direction (if it was that and not a directorial choice that was not in the script) in the lion and the rose could be alluding to a union. the one where loras and jaime discuss the cersei-loras marriage and the dialogue ends with “you will never marry [cersei]” “neither will you” and then brienne enters the frame while the camera is on jaime. followed up by the cersei brienne convo. grrm wrote it after all. this is the technique he kept using with olenna regarding joffrey’s murder as well.

i am just fine with if all this just indicates future romance between them, and is being used to emphasize their desire for each other that they both repress in different ways (oathkeeper itself can be read as an engagement metaphor: “He will bring a rose for you,” her father promised her, but a rose was no good, a rose could not keep her safe. It was a sword she wanted.”, “Ser Galladon was a champion of such valor that the Maiden herself lost her heart to him. She gave him an enchanted sword as a token of her love.”) i do not think it would be made lesser if the relationship does not necessarily operate within the boundaries of westerosi society. i dont care if the marriage is a symbolic one rather than a literal one (like a knighting.) i do not think that would take away from the romantic relationship. we will see. i know jaime deals with failure when it comes to fatherhood but i am still pretty lukewarm when it comes to that kind of ending for him. i would prefer that remaining a tragedy. could that change? idk.

brienne too is a complex character. her relationship with her desires is complicated. part of her does crave marriage and a child etc. again, it is not as simple as her not at all desiring any aspect of the role she is assigned due to her gender. it is a role that society made for her, but also did not allow her to fit due to how she looks. so that is already very loaded and highlights the contradictory nature of this strict binary. but she also is a knight. she likes it. there is a reason she is a little relieved as well. she has agency to be what she wants to be. she is operating outside of society’s moulds in her own way. is there a way to make these things compromise? maybe.

if you want an “anti-bnf” 😭 opinion from me i do absolutely want their relationship to be consummated, and i disagree with the ppl who want it to be/read it as just a courtly love/chivalric romance type deal in that sense. sexual themes permeate the dynamic, and i wouldn’t like it if george, who does not shy away from dealing with sexuality, didn’t deal with this one relationship, ESPECIALLY because Brienne is an unattractive woman. would unironically rub me the wrong way if she ended up being the one ‘major’ female character, with a key romance, who is also an adult, to not have that. do not want her to be desexualized in this context. i am also tired of the relationship being “purified” in this sense in a lot of general discussion bc i think it often ventures into backwards territory. i would not be really happy with them only getting sex metaphors (which there are plenty of already) + i do believe it would actually mean a lot for both of their characters too.

This is actually my first time ever commenting without being anon …. And I thought I would do that to wish you the HAPPIEST OF BIRTHDAYS!!! I hope you took the time to enjoy the day before your inbox gets flooded from your newest chapter. I’m currently holding off reading it to write you and read the posts from the previous chapter to prepare. When I tell you I have been refreshing your account religiously, awaiting any and all updates….it was looking a little embarrassing for me there. So glad you’re back again so let’s get into it.

-I saw a comment on how your story is better than the show in a sense. 1000% agree. You have a way of writing all the right things to get us attached (and even a little heart broken)to the characters and storyline while giving us hope that good things can and should still be able to happen for them. Regardless of how they see themselves and the situation(we love an unreliable narrator). Idk if this would make sense to anyone but me, but in my mind this story is a Shakespeare sonnet to the show’s Greek tragedy. Sometimes I think about things that I would have liked to see different in stories I read. Didn’t happen once in any of your chapters so far. Everything seems so perfectly balanced.

-I also pretend Tony is just off screen in the show. Don’t worry guys. She’s just on another job. Girls gotta pay rent😭

- I love the relationship between Tony and Syd omg. Peak female friendship between these two, but wouldn’t be mad if it was more than that…we are severely lacking in Syd stories across all platforms. Enough has been said in other comments about Tony’s relationship with Carmy, but this dynamic with Syd really made me think. Do I want to be her or do I want to be with her?? 👀Mhm mhm I’m gonna let that one simmer on the back burner for a bit. Moving on…

- Speaking of relationships. Tony and Richie. Wow. Just wow. I think the scene of him being a bit protective with the gross chef and him thinking Carmy would be all over it if he would just listen to why Richie thought he was a creep, shows how protective he can be. Our boy did not want to let that behavior slide. Then the heart to heart in the parking lot. I was in tears. Full on ugly sobbing. I had to pause and put the phone down….then read it over to really process it. It hit so close to home for me and truly gave me chills. It was such powerful writing in the way it felt so real to both of them and so accurate to how they would feel. If only one relationship can survive, I petition it to be these two. Friends (cousins) for life.

- You’re the closest we’re getting to justice for the Uncle Lee shit and i love you for it. It felt therapeutic 😌

-Also, LOVED the small character of Union Guy who shouted when people got annoyed at the bar staff getting a break. Very much made me think of that Saul Goodman video “Did you know you have rights? Well the constitution says you do.” It truly is the little pieces of comedic writing that make this story incredible.😭

- Obviously, the main event is Tony and Carmy. I love their dynamic and the way they flow so organically with each other in the story. I look forward to these two every week. It truly feels like before when everyone had cable and you waited all week to sit down and watch an episode of your favorite show. Nothing I say can do justice to your writing of these characters. With all the growth Richie’s had, with his light bit of misogyny from S1, I knew the one thing that he absolutely carried with them from point A to B was be protective, be a gentleman— And so to see Carmen not act like he did— Bro became full girl dad. FULL girl dad moment. 

Can I also take a moment to admit something? I have been waiting a long time to do the parking lot scene, but I had pictured the parking lot scene way long ago, when I was considering writing a Richie fic! I did not think it was going to end up here until like chapter 3? 

The reason Richie and Chip became such close characters was truly born out of me not wanting to write Y/N, and so I wrote in Cousin and gave Richie the history of knowing the nickname Chip— Because originally, I’d thought Chip and Mikey would be very separate from the Beef. But I wanted cousin!! So their closeness was born, and now they’re literally my favourite dynamic in the series. Funny how that works.

I had to beat uncle lee’s ass on camera. I really cannot STAND that motherfucker and it is also SO FUNNY that in the immediate next note to reference Saul Goodman who is Uncle Lee— But yes that is absolutely what i was going for. That union scene in my head was originally going to be so much longer for literally no reason, and because there was no reason for it I cut it down, but it’s those MOMENTS THAT I LOVE TO WRITTEE BABBYYY

ooh this is a tuff one bc i dont have a FAVORITE favorite per say. but there are a couple i do enjoy!

soarburn: ok so i actually wrote a fic on this! Ik theres absolutely no basis for this in or outside of the show, but part of what makes it so fun is imagining all the interactions they COULD have. I mean, think about it, Braeburn's super extroverted, charming, and hospitable; Soarin's an accomplished athlete, plus hes friendly and simplistic--kind of reminds me of their female counterpart (appledash). Like guys imagine Soarin in his suit and Braeburn ~flirting~ w him.. ouhhh imagine their banter !!

lunajack: ok ive actually seen some rlly good takes that got me on this ship! If i didnt hc Luna as aroace it'd 1000% be one of my top ships of all time. They could have such a good princess x pauper dynamic, a high society royal x simpleton farmer union. Plus like others have said, Applejack is one of the most people ponies ever and has this inherent, idk kindness?? and Luna meanwhile has this huge distance from others because of her years of exile, her particular role as a princess, and all of the walls shes built up from the guilt of nightmare moon. She was one of the first ponies to try and connect to luna in the most welcoming way possible despite her aura that one time she visited ponyville. "found you two! now, you have to help me find orel and tommy!" doughy and him were surprised, "how'd you even find us?" him asked as you let go of them both. "well, i just believe in myself and pray!" you replied. "woah.." they both said in union. to you, you sound like a normal kid but in their eyes, you are like a hero!

so you told everyone to split up. and by "split up" i mean doughy and him are together while you are alone. during your search for orel and tommy, you found someone else. you saw a boy with black hair burning ants with a magnifying glass. and you took that personally.

"hey, i dont think you should be doing that." you said towards the boy, while you were walking his way "and why do you care?" he replied. "well, it's because those ants didn't bite you, right? you shouldn't hurt other creatures because they didn't do anything to you!" you explained, now being beside him. one of my favourite canon things about him is his family life. i know we are not told that much about it, but when his mother tells him that he used to cry and mourn his father’s death along with her, it just hit hard 😭 I made a little post about it here heheh. but I pretty much like how his mother and sister long for him because that means he was loving and caring with them, and he was just having a very bad day (if it can be said like that). aaaand I think we also acknowledge that with the way he threatens Luzhin when he talks poorly about Dunya and Pulcheria, like even in his worst moments, he was unable to stop thinking about their well-being.

also the way he thinks high of almost everyone else, even if on the outside he is just like “meh” about them. like when he tells Razumikhin that he knows he is a good person and very hardworking, I mean, one would have thought that he is just annoyed by his presence, but no, he is so aware of his good ways, he even entrusts his family with him 😭

and of course the way he is so selfless and even if it is during his strange rushes, he doesn’t hesitate to help others.

I think I also like the way he is, somehow, look in for love and understanding? (or idk, that’s how i read it 😭) like his relationship with the landlady’s daughter, and when he got closer to that prostitute on the street and just told her shyly she was very pretty, like please 😭😭😭😭💔

alas for the main event, and what if this scene was my last straw 😭

i love how we went from jack not wanting phryne anywhere near his crime scenes to him having the paperwork ready and giving her his childhood badge so they can work together. that’s what we call development, kids. and only a couple of episodes after he gave her that brooch. he’ll never ask her that question and he’ll never give her the ring but boy is he asking all the other questions in all the other ways, and if that paper and that badge aren’t symbolism for a certain kind of lasting union - but custom tailored to the two of them - i will eat my hat!

and can we take a moment to ~reflect and properly consider how fast phryne signed those papers. no hesitation, no questions asked before committing herself to whatever jack was offering. for me, that was such a ~moment; the way her trust in him is unquestioning and absolute.

no but this might be my favourite still of her ever actually:

i can’t stop thinking about it, how she looks at him like he hung the moon and it’s actually incredibly endearing the way she is just so obviously crazy about him 😭 and it’s the way he still seems pretty oblivious to the extent of her feelings is what really gets me. i mean, obviously he ~knows she wants him, she has never been shy about that; and he knows she cares about him, and he probably knows she likes him. but i don’t think he actually realises exactly how head-over-heels in love she is with him (hint: it’s about the same amount he’s in love with her).

and there’s something about the above cap that makes it a sister cap to this one:

the two scenes just give the same energy. phryne fisher, bare faced and smitten with jack robinson.

the internal device scene was comic gold, i am still loling at it moving, at hugh’s realisation, at jack being amusedly unfazed. i mean season one jack would have absolutely blushed and stammered his way through that but our season three jack has had the benefit of miss phryne fisher completely invade his life and that guy is made of sterner stuff 🏌🏻‍♀️

IT’S SO MUCH BETTER WHEN HE DOES IT WITH HIS TEETH line 😭 good grief, jealous phryne is my favourite phryne, i fear. it’s nothing out of control and it doesn’t linger or colour her actions or define their relationship even for a bit; which is what makes it so delicious when she indulges in that moment of asserting herself as the woman in jack’s life. full marks! anyway, it’s really gonna be the last episode huh they’re really like that 😮‍💨 tbh with this sort of absolutely insane off the charts chemistry and incredible build-up, i can’t say i even mind. i’m not someone who needs to see the day-to-day of an established relationship, and while it would have been great to see them work on a case or two as a couple, to see them bickering and teasing and being them together for a season, i’m equally happy to leave that to fic. the build up is so much more important; the way two people find their way to each other, and honestly with this show it feels so earned.

Also because crystal corruption is an interesting topic— Blake hall incident — to explore!

Not only you get Kellyn and Kate destroying the sinis trio in Isaac coding lessons, we can get Kate being silly and upgrading the tools in the office (Insert Kincaid screaming after he found out the hairspray was upgraded to razor blade 2 in 1).

Plus.. we have an interesting mix of personalities. Isaac being easily encouraged and dive right into the research not knowing what’s up. Kate as the middle ground between the other two, seems relaxed and going with the flow. Then you have Kellyn who is more critical, he tends to act on his own, a bit stubborn so they have to convince him to do things. You’re gonna be almost convinced he’s doing all this for the sake of imported, special newspaper from Fiore or other regions. He’s so unseriously serious… aka He got his own agenda and nobody in the office knows why! (Insert him sneaking around the base to find out whats up).

You bet Kate realizes something was up first because Kellyn was busy “theorizing” and “overthinking” things. (Insert her running across the hallways and stumbling into Team Dim Sum mission things). Whoops.. sorry teach.. uh.. boss?

Well typical story would be… they found out and this big show down ensues but you know what? Those three are smart minds. okay so SAB!!! I saw JJK in my dreams again and.....you know how the settings are wierd but I remember, for some reason that our library was very cute?! 😭 Like idk baby pink books and LIP GLOSS?!
